The calibre of this team is truly exceptional – meet Thomas, Daniel, Oran and Nick.
It is with great pleasure that we announce our College Captains for 2026.
College Captain – Thomas Rossi
College Vice-Captain – Daniel Athaide
College Vice-Captain – Oran Jenkins
College Vice-Captain – Nicholas Shipham
Principal Deb Frizza has had the joy of meeting with each of these students and speaking with their proud parents upon their appointments.
“The calibre of this team is truly exceptional, each of them upstanding gentlemen who have actively demonstrated leadership and live by values throughout their journey at St Bede’s College.
I commend every student who was shortlisted for these four roles; they are each outstanding contributors and representatives of our College.
Please join me in celebrating Thomas, Daniel, Oran and Nick.
We look forward to a wonderful year ahead with their forthcoming leadership.”

College Captain – Thomas Rossi
My name is Thomas Rossi, I am a proud member of McCristal House. I am a passionate Hawthorn fan, and enjoy my part time job. My favourite pasttime is spending time outside, especially at the beach. I enjoy swimming, going to the gym and spending time with close friends.
My commitment as a leader of the 2026 cohort is to advance our culture to a point where every single student at St Bede’s feels valued, supported and empowered to thrive. I want to strengthen the Beda Spirit by building an environment where no one is left out, and everyone has the confidence to be themselves authentically, both at school and in wider society.
Together with the team of leaders and mentors, I’ll work to ensure your voice is heard, your efforts are recognised, and your journey is supported. I can only hope that if I am elected as a leader of the College, I am able to have the same lasting effects on the younger year levels, as past leaders have had on me – inspiring me to be my best – whilst encouraging and valuing this in others.
This is my anchor, leadership by example and partnership as one.
Let’s make 2026 a year where we rise to this reality, as one, united in our Lasallian heritage and driven by its values.

College Vice-Captain – Daniel Athaide
I am in Solomon House and have competed in ACC Hockey, Badminton, Public Speaking, Chess and Music.
Outside of school, I also enjoy going fishing, woodworking and playing table tennis. I am a genuine and friendly person.
Leadership for me, is about giving back to the St Bede’s community, by building new and better connections with students and staff. I am willing to be a good role model and support others in their lives. I understand how demanding such a position is but at the same time know the importance of finding balance between being a student and a leader.
I know that being a leader requires you to lead, but also listen to your team, recognising what they need and how to help them. I believe I can use my skills and capabilities to further benefit the College and genuinely carry the St Bede’s message and values. This means putting my hand up to assist – whether it is publicly recognised or not. Not every student wants to get involved at school, but I believe as a leader I need to guide these students to get onboard and be part of the journey.
As a leader, I want to help solve problems and overcome challenges to find solutions that are meaningful and worthwhile for all.

College Vice-Captain – Oran Jenkins
I am the youngest in a family of five, who immigrated from Ireland in 2012. I’ve played footy for SBMT since Auskick and competed in lifesaving for Mentone since u8s. I enjoy going to the gym, playing guitar and piano, and am in Solomon House. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing various corridors, classrooms, and ACC teams with most of my cohort.
Being a leader in 2026, I will make it a testament to seek the best for our Year 12 cohort. I will be an honest leader, who is passionate and keen to make the best of the opportunity presented. My intentions behind becoming a College leader are not only to listen and help my peers, but to support my classmates and always be there to pump them up – regardless of the situation.
I aim to achieve success for the Class of 2026, by advocating for student voice where each and every boy feels valued and heard. Being a good leader isn’t about being the loudest in a room – it’s about knowing the way, going the way, and showing the way. As much as Year 12 is about positioning yourself accordingly for your future, whether it be about ‘locking in’ academically or settling into a trade, cliche-or-not, it is also about having well-deserved fun. I am honoured to lead this great cohort into an awesome final year.

College Vice-Captain – Nicholas Shipham
I’m Nick Shipham. I play tennis, cricket and do lifesaving. I follow Richmond and love motorsports. At St Bede’s College, I have been a part of the Student Representative Council, as well as a leader in multiple co-curricular activities in which I have loved doing so.
Being a St Bede’s student means to be a part of something larger than yourself, it means belonging to a community, and leading this community would be an absolute privilege.
Our College Captains require reliable, approachable, innovative and organised characteristics. I strive to be this leader, and have since Year 7. Through my academic endeavours, sporting experiences and relationships, I implement the school values of Faith, Service and Community.
As a friendly, dedicated and determined individual, I will lead our Year 12 cohort to maximise our enjoyment of our final year at St Bede’s. I aim to continue to help our College blossom, where everyone from Year 7 to teachers flourish in their unique interests. Part of this is creating a strong, and connected senior student body that unites our VCE and VCE-VM as one, and external passions are all celebrated and encouraged.
As a united front, we can model what it means to wear the blue blazer with pride, and I would be honoured to be a College Captain.
