Lasallian Connection

St Bede’s College is proud to be part of the worldwide Lasallian family. There are many ways that old collegians can stay connected to what’s happening in the college and beyond.

We want to be people who take action – practicing the things that St Bede’s taught us were important – living purposeful lives by right paths.

For alumni who would like to practically express the Lasallian values of Faith, Service and Community, we offer opportunities to be involved in college Retreats, Camp La Salle, Lasallian Youth Gatherings, Prayer and Social gatherings with fellow alumni and past pupils of our other Lasallian colleges in Melbourne.

“The secret of heaven: that each affects the other and the other affects the next, and the world is full of stories, but the stories are all one.” (from the book ‘The five people you meet in Heaven’ by Mitch Albom)

Retreats, Class Retreats and Reflection Days

Retreat days are rich experiences when former students are part of the day – sharing their own stories of challenge and success, as well as the challenge of living a life with meaning after college. You may have been a trained Lasallian Youth Leader or college leader and want to help out as a Retreat facilitator or support person for small group activities.

Camp La Salle

Year 8 students from the four Lasallian colleges in Melbourne who may not have opportunities to go on holidays due to financial or personal struggles are invited to Camp La Salle. We are able to provide these students with an enjoyable, inexpensive holiday experience.

Those who are interested in helping out with transport, by volunteering some time and resources or providing financial support for the camp activities, please contact the school.

Lasalle Focus and Community

This is a group of former students and friends of the Lasallian schools who meet on a regular basis for prayer, community activities and service projects both locally and overseas. This includes former students going on volunteer trips to Cambodia, regional conferences in New Zealand and Thailand. For more information, contact the youth ministry coordinator at school.

The Lasallian Family in Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Papua New Guinea

The Lasallian district of Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea will occasionally hold gatherings for past pupils and this is another opportunity to learn about great works of service that other Lasallians are doing, and exploring how we can make a difference in our world.

Lasallian Youth Leaders

A volunteer group within the school that aims to provide students with opportunities to express their faith through service in the community. It helps to build confidence and skills such as speaking in public, working with younger students and developing their own creativity. This is open to students in Years 11 and 12.
